Scanner Recorder is a program that records speech input. You can save .WAV voice files by using this program. You can choose to record the sound that comes from the microphone connected to your sound card in different qualities (CD, Radio or Telephone) and formats (IMA or Microsoft APDCM, PCM, MP3 or SPEEX). You can also set the sampling frequency, from 8000 to 44000 Khz., mono or stereo. You will need to specify a file name and path before recording speech. One you have eveything selected, you can begin recording by pressing the "Record" button and talking through the microphone. To stop your recording, you must press the "Stop" button. The program will not waste space in the disk recording silences, as it uses VOX technology. The umbral of silence can be configured by using the Squelch control. Scanner Recorder allows you to engage or disengage the DC offset correction. You can see the disk remaining space in a box on the left. The interface will also show you the actual time, the elapsed time and the recorded time.
